Cushions Perth are a very important element of any room that has upholstery. There are more than a few ways to use them. This makes them flexible, but it also means there are ways to get them wrong. Here are a few steps you can take to help maximize the effects of the cushions.

Advice on Using Cushions

First, there’s the ancient rule. If the cushions don’t match the sofa, toss them out. Cushions that don’t go with the sofa is just a bad idea.

From there, take a moment. Consider what colour palette you’re interested in, and then use that as your baseline.

If you pick carefully, your cushions can pull together all the elements in the room. It can anchor all of your decor and stylish choices, giving the whole thing a more harmonious aesthetic. This will also help you figure out what the palette should be since it should blend in with the room.

Another thing to think about would be the number of cushions on the sofa. This number will be tied to the style of room you prefer, for the most part.

A more traditional lounge, for instance, will rely on deep colours and have an even number of cushions. More modern designs go with odd numbers. It sounds like a small, trivial thing but it’s absolutely true. This is a rule that most designers and decorators use.

The size of the sofa is also a concern. A three-seater can handle up to five cushions without feeling crowded, for instance.

You know the number. You know the colours. Now you need to get the cushions.

Be sure to keep the palette you chose close by, in case you forget. Your cushions don’t need to have all the colours present, but should at minimum have a dominant colour. If you can, though, try to find ones that have two to three of your colour choices.

Don’t just buy any cushions, though. Select ones based on the right shape and size.

Now, it’s true most people go with the standard measurements. They’re simpler, easier to find, more common, and faster. However, this also deprives you of the opportunity to personalize things.

Vary the shapes and sizes a little. Mix and match a little. Maybe two different-sized cushions with the same pattern, with others in a solid colour for accent.

Finally, consider the arrangement. There are no rules here, but there are things to keep in mind. First, traditional looks go for matching cushions at each end. A modern look is less hidebound to this arrangement.
